I rebuilt a 73 4964 Star twenty years ago. It had a small cam 350 that I made into a 400 magnum with a single 7' straight pipe. RS380 on Eaton rears
with a 13. One thing about those Stars the frames are as hard as the hubs of hell. It takes real good bits and allot of cutting oil. I have lengthened over
70 trucks through the years{not so much anymore}and I found that the treated rail in a Star the toughest to pilot drill. I finish 3/8 up to 3/4 with
Car Reamers.
